CIS versus NCAA Games, Early Season 2010

San Diego Toreros (West Coast Conference) go 2-1 against CIS teams, defeating
Thompson Rivers 73-64 and UBC 91-83 in overtime. Fraser Valley had the CIS win, by a score of 73-61.
New Mexico State Aggies (Western Athletic Conference) played some Montreal area club and alumni teams and a single game against CIS competition, defeating Carleton 65-53. Northern Arizona Lumberjacks (Big Sky Conference) played five games in Calgary in Battle of the Border. Against CIS teams they had a 3-1 record, defeating Lethbridge twice, by scores of 106-72 and 83-62. The Lumberjacks split their pair of games with Calgary, losing 89-65 before turning the tables by a 80-62 score. Kentucky Wildcats (Southeastern Conference) won all three games played in Windsor by convincing margins. Two wins were against the Windsor Lancers, with scores of 95-62 and 104-75. In between those games they also defeated Western by a score of 96-68. In all three games the CIS teams stayed close in the first half, but third quarter runs by Kentucky led to wide margins of victory. Good crowds were on hand for all three games. Idaho State Bengals (Big Sky Conference) had a single game against CIS competition. Fraser Valley Cascades defeated the visitors by a score of 71-69. |
South Dakota State Jackrabbits (The Summit League)
won all four games played in Winnipeg. The visitors defeated the Winnipeg Wesmen by scores of 105-53 and 94-52
while defeating the Manitoba Bisons by margins of 94-60 and 93-69.
Maine Black Bears (America East Conference) had a five game tour through Quebec and Ontario, winning all five games. In Lennoxville, Maine defeated the Bishop's Gaiters 81-54. In Montreal, Maine won over McGill by a 87-66 score and over UQAM by a score of 79-64. In Ottawa, Maine came out on top over Carleton 73-62. The tour finished in Quebec City with a 87-80 win over Laval. Minnesota Golden Gophers (Big Ten Conference) won three games in British Columbia against Canada West team. Minnesota started with a 80-62 win over UBC, followed by and 80-68 win over Trinity Western. In the finale on the island, Minnesota defeated Victoria by a 101-67 score. Cincinnati Bearcats (Big East Conference) played three games in Ottawa, winning all three. The Bearcats defeated McGill 89-58, Carleton 87-70 and Ottawa 79-57. |
